Overview ›

The LGND Aurora UV‑C Internal Steriliser is a fully submersible UV‑C unit designed to help maintain clear and healthy aquarium water. UV‑C light at approximately 253.7 nm helps control free-floating algae and microorganisms as water circulates around the lamp housing.

The Aurora can be installed inside an aquarium, sump or permanently filled filter chamber. Its programmable controller allows an operating time of up to 8 hours to be selected in 30-minute increments, together with adjustable interval-day settings. A six-segment indicator monitors the calculated UV‑C lamp service life.

The compact housing, high-grade quartz glass and waterproof silicone sealing system provide reliable submerged operation. The unit can be installed vertically or horizontally using the supplied suction cups.

Directions ›

Attach the LGND Aurora vertically to the side or rear glass of the aquarium using the supplied suction cups. Position the unit in an area with strong water circulation, preferably close to the filter outlet, so that water flows freely around the protective housing.

Ensure that the complete UV‑C lamp assembly is fully submerged and that the housing openings remain unobstructed. Install the unit where fish and other aquarium inhabitants cannot come into direct contact with the lamp or the UV‑C light emitted through the housing openings.

Install the Aurora inside a sump chamber that remains permanently filled with water. The unit may be attached vertically to the side or rear glass or installed horizontally on the bottom of the chamber.

Position it in an area with strong and continuous water circulation. Ensure that the complete lamp assembly is fully submerged and that the protective housing openings are not obstructed by equipment, substrate or other objects.

Refer to the supplied operating manual for controller settings, operation, cleaning and maintenance instructions.

FAQ ›
Where can the Aurora be installed?
The Aurora can be installed inside an aquarium, sump or permanently filled filter chamber with continuous water circulation.
Does the complete appliance go underwater?
Only the UV‑C lamp assembly is submersible. The controller, mains plug and all electrical connections must remain outside the aquarium or sump and completely dry.
Can it be installed vertically and horizontally?
Yes. The supplied suction cups allow the Aurora to be installed vertically on the side or rear glass or horizontally on the bottom of a sump or suitable aquarium area.
Does the Aurora include a water pump?
No. The Aurora uses the aquarium's existing filter or circulation pump to move water around the UV‑C lamp housing.
How long can it operate each day?
The controller can be programmed for up to 8 hours per operating cycle in 30-minute increments. Interval settings from 0 to 8 days are also available.
Does it replace the aquarium filter?
No. The Aurora supports water clarification and microorganism control but does not replace mechanical filtration, biological filtration, regular water changes or normal aquarium maintenance.
Why is the water not becoming clear?
Check that the correct model is being used for the aquarium volume, that the unit is positioned in an area with sufficient water circulation and that the housing openings and quartz glass are clean. Results will also depend on the water condition and the selected operating programme.
Where can I find the complete operating instructions?
Installation diagrams, controller settings, cleaning, maintenance and troubleshooting information are provided in the operating manual supplied with the product.
